Fix Solutions came to Insight Assurance through a referral from a trusted advisor. The recommendation carried weight, and the team moved quickly: “We trusted our advisors, and we decided to go for you guys.”
The initial consultation set the tone for everything that followed. Alexander reflected on what made the first interaction stand out: working with an auditor that could hold the tension between rigor and respect. “This can be a very tenuous situation because the auditor has authority over deciding whether you’re certified and doing things right or not. So the way you act as an auditor is very, very important. You want to be very respectful and trustworthy and collaborative, but you also need to do your job. And I think that’s what you guys managed to deliver, not only in the first meeting, but also during the audit.”
Day-to-day communication throughout the process was a consistent highlight. “Fast follow-ups, super transparent communication, very respectful during the audit,” Alexander said.
The process also surfaced moments of challenge. When the auditor was probing a specific control and the answer given was adjacent but not quite what was being sought, the back-and-forth could become tense. Alexander was candid about it: “When an auditor is looking for something and you don’t understand them, it can be tough. You start to give an answer and maybe it’s an adjacent thing but they wanted to seek out something else.”
But he credited how those moments were handled: “There was a very good balance of doing your job and being an auditor, but also saying, hey, this is what I meant and this is what I want to see and these are my expectations. So there were challenges, but it was very, very well managed.” Throughout the process, Fix Solutions used Vanta as its compliance platform to manage evidence.
For companies considering ISO 27001, Alexander offered a practical frame: “It depends on where you’re at. For a company at our stage, if you’re fast, 6 to 10 weeks and you’re done.”
Following the completion of its ISO 27001 certification, Fix Solutions saw several meaningful outcomes:
Enterprise Deals That Continue to Move Forward
For Fix Solutions, the most direct commercial outcome was simple and significant. Enterprise prospects who required ISO 27001 as a baseline continued their sales processes rather than stalling out. “We were in a few sales processes where it was important,” Alexander noted. “When they had it, we just delivered on our promise. For them it’s the baseline of working with us. They continued the sales process with us, which is enough value.”
A Foundation for Long-Term Compliance and Growth
Alexander described the cumulative value of the certification in terms that went beyond any single deal: “Increasing trust, giving more revenue, improving processes, building compliance from the start, and being able to close enterprise customers.” For a company at Fix Solutions’ stage, having ISO 27001 in place early means the compliance foundation scales with the business rather than having to be built under pressure later.
A 9.5-Out-Of-10 Engagement and an Already-Signed Return
Alexander rated the overall experience a 9.5 out of 10 and has already signed the contract for the next assessment, a maintenance audit with Insight Assurance. When asked whether he would recommend the firm to others, his answer was immediate: “Definitely, yeah.”
For software and AI companies pursuing enterprise clients, ISO 27001 certification is increasingly the standard of entry, not a differentiator. What matters is how the process is managed: whether it is rigorous enough to be credible, and structured enough to be completed without derailing the business.
Fix Solutions GmbH’s experience reflects what that process can look like when both sides approach it with clarity and professionalism. Through the certification engagement, the company gained external validation, kept its enterprise sales moving, and built a compliance foundation designed to grow with the business.
