Insight Assurance and Prescient’s affiliated entities collectively support SOC, ISO/IEC, PCI DSS, HITRUST, FedRAMP, CMMC, and penetration testing. Insight Assurance performs SOC examinations as a licensed CPA firm, while Prescient Assurance performs attest work and issues SOC reports. The main distinctions are found in the firms’ structures, security testing, compliance technology, and independence boundaries across services.
Insight Assurance is a licensed CPA firm, a PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), a HITRUST Authorized External Assessor, an authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO), and a FedRAMP-recognized independent assessor (formerly 3PAO). ISO/IEC certification work runs through IA Certifications. Insight Assurance is accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS), an IAF MLA signatory, for ISO/IEC 27001, 27701, and 42001. Founded by former Big 4 professionals, the firm serves 2,500+ clients across North America, South America, Europe, and APAC and is expanding in the GCC.
Prescient Security was founded in 2018 as a cybersecurity firm and is CREST-accredited for penetration testing. Prescient Assurance is a separate affiliated licensed CPA firm within Prescient Security Management’s alternative practice structure and provides audit and attest services. Prescient Security itself does not perform audit or attest services.

Readiness and Independent Assurance Are Different Services
Readiness and formal assessment work are separate services, and independence or impartiality requirements vary by engagement. Where those rules apply, the independent assessor cannot design or operate the controls it later evaluates. Those boundaries protect the independence of reports and certifications used by customers, regulators, or other stakeholders.
Prescient Security describes impartiality controls for applicable certification work and states that it does not provide management system consultancy to ISO/IEC certification clients. Insight Assurance likewise keeps remediation with the client and does not implement fixes or operate controls in systems it assesses. Before combining readiness and formal assessment work, confirm which entity or team performs each service and what independence requirements apply.
Security Testing Adds Another Layer to Compliance Planning
Prescient Security’s penetration-testing portfolio includes Cacilian, a penetration-testing-as-a-service platform, and Cait, an AI-assisted continuous penetration testing service.
Insight Assurance also performs penetration testing and vulnerability assessments. Point-in-time testing tied to a framework requirement serves a different need than recurring testing designed to track vulnerabilities between assessment cycles.
Both Work With Your Compliance Platform, in Different Ways
Many teams manage evidence through platforms such as Vanta or Drata. Prescient Security integrates with third-party GRC platforms and offers proprietary assurance and testing tools. InsightONE is an audit-delivery methodology, not separate software, and is designed to work alongside an organization’s existing compliance technology.
Automated evidence still requires auditor evaluation. Ask how each firm validates platform evidence, handles documentation that may support multiple frameworks, and addresses conflicting or incomplete information.
What Clients Say About Working With Insight Assurance
Insight Assurance holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating across more than 140 G2 reviews and earned Fall 2026 G2 Leader badges in IT Compliance Services and Penetration Testing Services. It also ranked No. 820 on the 2026 Inc. 5000, its second consecutive year on the list after placing No. 399 in 2025.
One reviewer wrote: “They were consistently quick to respond throughout the engagement, and rather than making us adapt to a separate portal, they met us where we work, communicating and collaborating with us directly in Slack.” Another noted a “deep understanding of our product and environment, which is valuable for future audits.” Hook described its engagement as “a very seamless process in terms of the discovery and scoping.”
Yoffix Earns ISO/IEC Certification as It Expands Across Europe
Yoffix, a workplace management software provider expanding across Europe, needed ISO/IEC 27001 certification to meet enterprise expectations and wanted the certification audit to work with its existing Vanta environment.
Insight Assurance mapped the two-stage certification process in advance. Co-founder and CEO Nikolay Grachev said, “We knew exactly what was coming in both certification steps.” Yoffix completed both stages on schedule. When a global client later sent a 120-question security questionnaire, Yoffix was ready. “It gave us confidence — we are at the level to work with such companies,” Grachev said.
Compare the Service Model Against Your Program
Prescient Security combines cybersecurity testing and proprietary security tools with affiliated assurance services through Prescient Assurance. Insight Assurance pairs its licensed CPA audit practice with ISO/IEC certification through IA Certifications and a platform-agnostic delivery model, while keeping remediation with the client.
For organizations comparing the two, look at which entity performs each service, how independence is maintained, who will be assigned to the engagement, and whether that team is likely to carry context into the next cycle. If several frameworks are on the roadmap, also consider how evidence and schedules will be coordinated across them.
